In the spirit of freedom, in remembrance of the sacrifices and bloodshed and to honour the freedom fighters, Transcom Foods Limited (TFL) arranges a colourful grand rally on December 16 every year, where most of the employees of TFL (Pizza Hut and KFC) take part with great pride and joy.
This year, on the 45th victory day of Bangladesh, the rally organised by TFL, commenced from the grounds of TFL head office in Gulshan 1 at 9 am, marched to Gulshan 2 and came back again to the head office.
Under the supervision of artist Saidul Haq Juiss, a procession of 20 vans, 45 dhulis (native drummers) and over hundreds of TFL employees were joined by general citizens to take part in the rally. At the head office, they raised the national flag and the national anthem was played. To symbolise 45 years of freedom, 45 baloons were also released in the air at the event.
TFL managing director and CEO Akku Chowdhury said, “even after 45 years of independence, when I see young generation taking initiatives to keep up the spirit of ’71 alive, I see the same dream in their eyes that we once saw during liberation war. I, on behalf of all my fellow freedom fighters, would like to convey our deepest gratitude for such an arrangement. I believe that the day we all sustain the same spirit of 1971 in our hearts, we will also be able to work as one and selflessly build our “Shonar Bangladesh-our beloved motherland.”
