Returning Officer of Kolaroa municipality Abul Hossain has been suspended on charge of misusing power.
The Election Commission issued a notification in this regard on Sunday.
Signed by senior secretary Sabedur Rahman, the notification said Abul Hossain committed offense by illegally accepting the nomination paper of Kolaroa mayor candidate Aminul Islam Laltu and declaring it valid.
Satkhira Deputy Commissioner Nazmul Ahsan said Abul Hossain was transferred to Khulna on Monday.
