The public holiday for Eid-e-Miladunnabi will be observed on December 25 instead of December 24.
The Public Administration Ministry has issued an order regarding this on Sunday.
The holiday for Christmas, the biggest religious festival of Christian community, will also be observed on December 25.
According to the government holidays for 2015 calendar year, Eid-e-Miladunnabi holiday was scheduled for December 24. However, National Moon Sighting Committee decided to observe Eid-e-Miladunnabi on December 25 as the Rabiul Awal moon was not sighted in Bangladesh sky on December 12.
Muslims across the world observe the holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the birth and demise of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh).
On this day in 570, the 12th day of Rabiul Awal of the Hijri calendar, Muhammad (pbuh) was born in Makkah of Saudi Arabia with divine blessings and messages of peace for mankind. He also passed away on the same day.
