A person has been killed and 15 others have been injured during a clash over land property at Noya Pataria village under Baniachong upazila in Habiganj.
The deceased is Selim Mia, 22, son of Tenu Mia and a student of Brindabon Government College.
Police said there was a long-standing conflict between Tenu Mia and Tara Mia over a piece of land in the village.
As a sequel to the enmity, the duo and their supporters attacked each other with lethal weapons on Friday morning, leaving 16 people injured. Selim died while the injured were being taken to Habiganj Sadar Hospital.
Later, police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Baniachong OC Nirmalendu Chokroborty said they were trying to arrest the culprits.
