Seven people have been killed and eight others injured as a truck plunged into a ditch in Lama upazila of Bandarban district.
The deceased are Rajib, 40, Robin, 35, Aftab, 55, Amzad, 45, Hassan, 35, Rakib, 40, and Alek, 34.
Police said a truck carrying day labourers to a tower construction site for mobile company Grameenphone plunged into a ditch around 7:30am Thursday, killing four people on the spot and injuring the others.
Lama OC Mohammad Iqbal Hossain said three others injured died when police and army officials took them to Chakaria Upazila Health Complex.
The bodies have been sent to Bandarban District Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
