A man was killed and four others, including three children, were injured yesterday in a gas cylinder blast at a fair arranged on occasion of Victory Day in Boalkhali upazila of Chittagong.
The dead Jakir Hossain, 40, was a hawker, said Boalkhali Officer-in-Charge Samsul Islam.
The injured Sentu Mia, 40, and the children Sani, Sakib and Naimuddin were sent to Chitttagong Medical College Hospital, police said.
The OC said the incident took place at Paschim Gomdandi High School of the district’s Patiya.
A gas cylinder used for inflating balloons exploded at the fair, leaving Jakir spot dead, he added.
