A priest of a church in Lalmonirhat has received death threat allegedly from militant group Islamic State.
Tapan Barman, priest of Church of God, filed a general diary with Lalmonirhat sadar police station regarding the threat.
The hand-written letter of the threat asked the priest to stay ready for death by December 20.
It also mentioned that the people who are working for spreading Christianity in Lalmonirhat will also be shot dead.
Lalmonirhat sadar police station OC AHM Mahfuzur Rahman said police were looking into the matter.
He said they also started strengthening security to the Christian community in the district.
