A man has been burned to death and two others suffered injuries as miscreants set their room afire at Narinda intersection in the city’s Wari area early Thursday.
The deceased is Sumon, 40, while the injured were Shahidul Islam Shaheed, 18, and Shakib, 18.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital burn unit's resident surgeon Dr Partha Shankar Paul said Shahidul and Sumon suffered 85% burns while Shakil received 35%.
He said the condition of two others are also critical.
DMCH police outpost in-charge Mozammel Hoque said miscreants set the room afire after putting the door locked around 3am Thursday.
Hearing the scream, neighbours rushed in and rescued them breaking the door. Later, they were taken to the DMCH where Sumon died in the evening.
