Five-year-old Nirob, who was found dead in a sewerage line, died within 10 to 30 minutes after he fell into the uncovered manhole, a forensic report has concluded.
A four-member forensic team led by Assistant Professor Dr Kazi Mohammad Abu Sama, acting head of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Forensic Department conducted the autopsy.
While talking to the reporters, Dr Kazi Mohammad Abu Sama said: “We suspect that the boy died within 10 to 30 minutes after falling into the manhole. We found water in his stomach.”

The forensic team concluded the autopsy on Wednesday morning while his body was handed over to family members at 11:30am.
Ismail Hossain Nirob died after falling in an uncovered manhole in the capital's Shyampur area on Tuesday afternoon.
Kadamtali SIB Moufizur Rahman said: “A general diary has been filed in connection to the matter. Next step will be taken after consulting the high officials.”
Meanwhile, Nirob's father Rezaul Karim told the Dhaka Tribune that the body will be buried in their home town in Bonogram village of Madaripur district.
