Transport owners and workers began indefinite strike in the district yesterday demanding that the government impose a ban on plying of human haulers on the highways.
Apel Mahmud, general secretary of Panchagarh Transport Owners Association, said they had called the strike as the local administration failed to stop movement of human haulers like Nasimon,
Karimon and battery-driven easy-bike on the busy roads and highways.
District Motor Owners’ Union and three transport workers’ associations jointly announced the programme.
