A Dhaka court has placed bus helper Mamun, who was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a female student of Dhaka University, on a three-day remand.
The court of Metropolitan Magistrate SM Maud Zaman passed the order on Saturday after the IO of the case, SI Raihanuzzaman produced the accused before it with a seven-day remand plea.
Mamun was arrested early Saturday, a few hours after he sexually harassed the DU student and hurled verbal abuse at her.

The third year student on Friday afternoon filed a written complaint with Darus Salam police station following the incident of harassment.
In her complaint, she stated that she started for her university by a bus of Shuktara Paribahan from her village home in Manikganj around 1pm.
After a while, the helper of bus, Mamun, came and sat on the empty seat next to her. At one stage, he stared harassing her sexually.
When the student protested the ill attempt, the criminal hurled verbal abuse at her. Following the harassment, she got down from the bus at Gabtoli.
At that time, there were 10-12 passengers on the bus and many of them protested against his advances but the helper paid no heed to them, stated the complaint.
OC Selimujjaman of Darus Salam police station said the complaint was taken as a case.
