The Inspector General of Police (IGP) has sought cooperation of the Ulemas (Islamic scholars) to curb militancy in the country.
IGP AKM Shahidul Hoque made the urge in a meeting held with the Ulemas at Police Headquarters in Dhaka Saturday afternoon.
He called upon them to make understand the people about militancy, misinterpretation of Islam.
The IGP also urged them to raise awareness in the society about the militants who are killing people in the name of religion.
