Bangladesh will send letters to the authorities of search engine Google and video-sharing website YouTube.
State minister for Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology Tarana Halim said the letter will be sent for solving some problems with Google and YouTube.
She said she is taking the initiative in order to solve the search engine and video sharing problems one by one.
The government has recently sent a letter to the Facebook authorities seeking help to solve issues.
Mentioning that there are some problems with Google and YouTube in Bangladesh for a long time, she told the Bangla Tribune that the government would ask Google and YouTube to set up their admin panel, offices in Bangladesh and remove all controversial content on Bangladesh.
State minister said any information once shared on internet quickly spread through Google. "That is why government could not be succeeded when they initiated to remove unnecessary information from internet as the information remains same in different spaces in the internet."
Meanwhile, once a video was uploaded in YouTube, its authorities never remove it when they are requested. They answered it is against their policy.
So these policies have caused problems in several occasions. Like when some private videos, or controversial films were uploaded on YouTube, it gave rise to unpleasant incidents, Tarana emphasised.
The state minister thinks problems like this could be solved through correspondence with Google and YouTube.
