The popular social network Facebook will be reopened very soon, State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak has said.
The junior minister came up with the disclosure while speaking at a press briefing on the first-ever national debate on ICT at the National Press Club on Thursday.
“We have contacted the Facebook headquarters …hope, we’ll be able to reopen it within a short time,” he said.
Asked when exactly the ban will go, Palak said: “I can’t tell you any specific time, but I can tell you we will unblock Facebook soon.”
On November 18, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (BTRC) suspended the operation of Facebook, Messenger, Viber and WhatsApp in the country in a bid to ensure public safety.
