The Election Commission will decide on the demands of the political parties over the upcoming municipality elections after holding talks on Monday.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad made the statement after holding meeting with Awami League, BNP and Jatiya Party delegations at the EC Secretariat on Sunday afternoon.
“We have listened to all. When registered political parties raised any demands, those were considered with due importance. We will inform our decisions after holding talks with other commissioners on Monday,” the CEC said.

He said enough time was given and December 30 is the last chance for voting.
Awami League has made the demand to allow MPs to participate in electioneering during the countrywide municipal polls billed for December 30 while the BNP urged the CEC to take measures so that lawmakers cannot take part in the municipality elections campaign.
On the other hand, Jatiya Party demanded to extend the deadline for submitting the nomination papers for the municipal polls by 10 days from December 3 while the BNP demanded to deffer the election schedule for 15 days.
