Two Bangladeshi nationals have been killed as members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) opened fire on them in India's Tarali area opposite to Taluigachha border in Satkhira.
The deceased are Md Nazrul Islam, son of Sher Ali Biswas of Pancharki village and Abdul Khalek Sarder, of Kakdanga village.
Bashdagaha Union Parishad Chairman Nasimul Haque confirmed the deaths to the Dhaka Tribune.
He said their associates managed to return to Bangladesh area.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Tulgacha Camp Commander Subedar Humayun said: “I have heard about the firing but I am not sure if there was any casualty in the incident.”
BGB 38 Battalion Captain Lieutenant Colonel Arman said: “We have called a a flag meeting."
