Five members of a family have sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out due to gas stove explosion at a house at Tolla village of Fatullah in Narayanganj.
The injured were identified as Monir Hosain, 35, his wife Minara Begum, 28, his sister’s son Rimon, 25, his nephew Arif, 16, and a child.
The incident took place at 4am on Thursday while Minara went to light gas stove for cooking food for breakfast.
The injured were rushed to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the morning, said DMCH in-charge Muzammel Haque.
Of them, the condition of Monir and his wife is critical as they received 23% and 40% burn injuries respectively.
