A youth has been shot dead by unidentified miscreants at Krishnapur village, Mohespur upazila, Jhenaidah.
The deceased is Arsad Ali, 30, son of Abdul Jabbar of Camppara area in Moheshpur upazila town.
Moheshpur police station OC Shahidul Islam Shahin said they had received an information that the bullet-ridden body of a man was found in a field on Friday.
Then, they rushed to the spot and took the body to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The OC said he might have been shot dead sometimes in Thursday night.
He was an accused in several cases, including with robbery and arms trading, with Moheshpur police station.
Police could not find any clue of the murder, the OC said, adding that a case has been filed in this connection.
