Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) issued a notice asking its officials and staff not to provide any information to media.
The Dhaka Tribune yesterday obtained a notice copy signed by Chief Executive Officer of the KCC Kazi Mohammed Safiul Alam.
The notice asked its officials and employees to refrain themselves from proving any type of information to the media.
It also warned its staff of stern actions if anyone does it, the corporation would against rules and regulation of the city corporation.
Sources at CCC said after receiving such kind of notice officials and staff expressed mixed reaction over the issues.
Admitting issuing the notice Kazi Mohammed Safiul Alam said: “There is a scope of misunderstanding if any staff provides any wrong information to the media which may tarnish the image of city corporation.”
“It is not against the media. We want to give media right information. We issued the notice 15 days back,” he added.
“The mayor of the CCC would decide who provide authentic information to the media,” he further added.
