Some unknown miscreants have attacked a prison guard with a lethal weapon in Faridpur district town.
The assailants made the heinous attack to prison guard Asaduzzaman Asad while he was on his way to a local post office with official documents on Wednesday.
Inspector General of Prisons Brig Gen Syed Iftekhar Uddin disclosed it in a press conference in the capital.
He told the media that Asad along with one of his colleagues was moving towards the post office by a motorcycle.
During the journey, some unidentified miscreants hit Asad with a lethal weapon from behind and run away the scene promptly, the IG of Prisons continued.
No arrest was made in this connection as of filing this report in the evening.
On Tuesday, a member of Military Police has become the third law enforcer in less than a month to be attacked with sharp weapons while on check post duty in the capital city of Dhaka.
