Syed Mahbubur Rahman joined the Dhaka Bank Limited as the managing director on November 08.
Prior to joining DBL, he served BRAC Bank in the same post.
With 27-year experience in banking and credit-related services, Mahbubur worked in various roles with a number of banks including Prime Bank, Citibank NA, Standard Chartered Bank, ANZ Grindlays Bank, IDLC Finance Limited etc.
He started his career in Saudi Bangladesh Agricultural and Industrial Investment. He also served as the director for BRAC EPL Investments, BRAC EPL Stock Brokerage, BRAC Saajan Exchange, bKash, BRAC IT Services and IIDFC Securities.
Mahbubur is also a member of the board of governors at Association of Bankers, Bangladesh.
He was born in 1962. Mahbubur obtained his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka.
