Chinese Food Festival at Pan Pacific Sonargaon

2015 is marked with several Bangladesh-China development projects, creating an unprecedented, golden year for strengthening and deepening the relationship between these two traditionally rich but culturally diverse nations. Dhaka is an exciting blend of politics, economics and culture and has become a place where people could freely and creatively communicate with everyone. The deeply immersed Chinese culture has now firmly established itself within the diverse and vibrant city of Dhaka. And this is where the food culture plays a prominent role in this cultural exchange, as Chinese cuisine has long been very popular in Bangladesh.

This year’s Chinese Food Festival 2015 is being hosted and organised by Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka in collaboration with China Radio International, Idachu Limited China and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bangladesh. The eventful festival will provide a five-day foodie wonderland of Chinese menu and drinks starting from November 3 to November 7. With over seven Chinese chefs arriving from different parts of China, each will serve their finest dishes and beverages for the ultimate alfresco feast. In addition, these professional chefs with years of experience will be providing live demonstrations to amuse and amaze on and all going to indulge in this festival at Café Bazar Restaurant. Creative cooking workshops and traditional Chinese performances will also be take place on the first day.

On this occasion, the general manager of the hotel, E J Mac Ewan said, “This festival aims to highlight the Chinese food culture’s development and impact on the global scale. Part of the 2015 Chinese Food Festival also serves as a platform for professionals in the food and beverage industry and more importantly, food lovers of Bangladesh to exchange ideas and draw in-depth key elements and intricacies regarding Chinese food culture.”

Chinese Food’s diversity and evolution over the years has had a profound impact on Bangladesh’s people’s perception of food and daily eating habits. Therefore, there is no doubt that the Chinese Food Festival 2015 at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka will be one of the most anticipated celebrations of international cuisines ending this year. Dinner buffet prices will range from Tk3,500 per person.
