At least seven people have been killed in a collision between a bus and a truck in Meherbari area at Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh.
At least 12 others were also injured in the accident. They were admitted to Bhaluka and Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Of the deceased, two were identified as Motaleb, 40, son of Abul Kashem of Trishal, and Nawshed, 45, son of Rashidul Islam of Nilphamari.
Savar Model police station OC Mamunur Rashid confirmed the Dhaka Tribune about the deaths in the accident.
Witnesses said a Dhaka-bound bus hit a stationed truck from behind on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway around 7am Saturday. After the collision, both the vehicles plunged into a roadside ditch.
The OC said: "Two people died on the spot while four others died on the way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital."
Senior Station Officer of Mymensingh Fire Service said another died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital around 9:30am.
