An officer of Zaber and Zubair Garment Industry Ltd of Noman Group at Tongi was hacked to death on Wednesday night.
The deceased was Syful Islam,28, Assistant Production Manager (APM) of the industry.
Sub-Inspector Aminul Islam of Tongi police station, said miscreants hacked Syful around 10pm while he was returning home in Pagar area near by the industry. He was living in the area at a rented house.
Locals rescued him in critical condition and sent to Tongi Hospital. He died on the way to the hospital.
The body was sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College for autopsy.
According to the industry sources, Syful suspended some workers few days ago. Later, the workers stabbed him leaving critically injured.
The police also arrested a person in connection with the incident.
