Dhaka Medical College Hospital authorities have formed a nine member medical board for the better treatment of one publisher and two bloggers who were attacked in the capital.
Casualty Block Residential Sergeant Dr Riad Morshed informed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune on Sunday afternoon.
DMCH's Deputy Director Khaja Abdul Gafur said Ehsan Mahmud, head of neurosurgery department, would head the medical board.
He said: “The injured have gone through several surgeries last night [Saturday night]. Ahmedur RahidTutul and Sudeep have been shifted to ward but Tareq is still not out of danger.
“Tareq was hacked on his hand five to six times which damaged his bones. We have operated on his hand but he has to go through another operation for the treatment of his nerves.”
The three - Ahmedur Rashid TutulRanadipam Basu, and Tareq Rahim - were hacked in Tutul's office in Lalmatia area on Saturday afternoon.
Tutul is the publisher of Shuddhashar Prokashani which published slain writer-blogger Avijit Roy's book Shunya Theke Mahabishwa. The publisher reportedly received death threat after the brutal murder of Avijit.
A few hours later, Jagriti Prakashani Publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan was found dead in the capital's Aziz Supermarket in the evening.
Dipan, whose publishing house aslo published a book of slain writer-blogger Avijit Roy, was hacked to death at his office.
