Heartbroken father says no use seeking justice

Update : 31 Oct 2015, 05:27 PM

“I will not seek justice over the killing of my son,” heartbroken father of slain publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan said.

Dipan's father, Abul Kashem Fazlul Haque, a former professor of Dhaka University, had little confidence that the courts are able to deliver justice. “There is no justice in the courts of this country.”

The slain man's father was speaking to the Bangla Tribune in front of Aziz Market on Saturday evening, after his son's body was discovered.

Dipan was the publisher of blogger Avijit Roy, who was himself murdered by extremists eight months ago.

Kashem said: “I do not want to go to court. I know there is no justice in the courts of this country. But I can just say that I will probably file a case as is customarily done.”

“I hope positive thoughts arise on both sides,” he said.
