Two people have been killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a microbus in Cox's Bazar Government College gate area of the district.
The deceased are Mintu Borua, 22, Swopna Das, 45, wife of Mridul Das of Chittagong.
Witnesses said a Cox's Bazar-bound bus of Hanif Enterprise collided head-on with a microbus coming from the opposite direction on Cox's Bazar-Chittagong highway around 8:30am Friday, leaving seven people injured.
Two of the injured died when taken to Cox's Bazar sadar hospital.
Hospital's Emergency Unit duty doctor Murad said: “The injured have been sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.”
Cox's Bazar sadar model police station OC MD Aslam Hossain said the bodies have been kept at Cox's Bazar sadar morgue.
