Expatriate Minister Nurul Islam yesterday called upon the Saudi government to take more manpower from Bangladesh.
The call came during a meeting with Saudi Ambassador Abdullah HM Al Motairee at the minister’s office in the capital’s Eskaton area.
Sources said the meeting was held to discuss bilateral and manpower issues with the envoy before the expatriate minister’s visit to Saudi Arabia.
In the meeting, the minister thanked the Saudi government for amending its labour law which now will benefit the expatriates living in Saudi and the amendment will also work for the welfare of the expatriates.
He requested the Saudi government to take skilled and semi skilled manpower from Bangladesh in different sectors and also requested to take more women manpower from Bangladesh.
In reply, the ambassador said the Saudi government is always interested to take manpower from Bangladesh and assured the minister to discuss the matter with his government.
