The king of kings, the baadshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) will be celebrating his 50th birthday next week. The buzz is that a very close friend of this and colleague, Karan Johar, will be taking a few days off from shooting Ae Dil Hai Mushkil to celebrate SRK’s birthday on November 2. He’ll be flying his way back to Mumbai from London just to take part in the celebration. Apparently SRK will be hosting the shindig in a suburban Mumbai hotel with a very starry guest list, as expected.
Karan has been on quite the giving mood, as he has also given his Ae Dil hai Mushkil star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan a day off for her birthday on November 1, just one day before SRK’s.
During a behind-the-scenes look at Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale, SRK elaborated a little about his birthday plans. He was quoted saying: “I will be fortunately or unfortunately working around my birthday. We will be shooting the last few portions of Dilwale in Goa on my birthday. I will make sure I spend time with my kids. My birthday isn’t mine anymore. I will start my day by meeting the media. Go out and wave at my fans who are waiting outside my house. Then I will be back and in the evening there is a special bash. During that, too, I will go get clicked, meet people, wave at fans. So throughout the day I will just be waving.” While still in his light hearted mood, he also added: “Since people celebrate my birthday everywhere right from radio to television, I think it doesn’t belong to me anymore.”
