Three persons have been killed while two others injured in two separate road accidents on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Sitakunda upazila in Chittagong.
The deceased were identified as Shakhawat Hossain, 25, Ismail Hossain, 47 and Anowar Hossain, 50. The injured were Nurul Alam, 15, and Nurul Karim, 35.
Of the deceased, Shakhawat Hossain hailed from Sandwip upazila while the rest are residents of Sitakunda upazila in Chittagong.
The highway police sources said a minibus overturned on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Bhatiary area in Sitakunda on Thursday morning. Shakhawat, the helper of the minibus died on the spot as he was crushed under the bus.
In a separate road accident, two people were killed on the spot while two others were injured when a collision between a truck and a Nasiman, a locally made three-wheeler, took place at Sitakunda Pourashbha area.
