The investigation officer (IO) of Japanese national Kunio Hoshi murder case has been changed.
The change was made on Sunday by a five-member probe committee, Jainal Abedin, police super of Rangpur, told the Dhaka Tribune on Tuesday.
Investigation Officer (IO) of the Hoshi Konio murder case and Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Kawnia Thana Mamunur Rashid has been replaced by DM Zahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of the same police station, said Abedin.

However, the reason behind the change could not be known immediately.
Kunio Hoshi, 65, was gunned down in broad daylight by unidentified miscreants in Kachu Alutari area of Kawnia upazila in the district during on his way to his farm on October 3.
The two suspects - local BNP leader Habibunnabi Khan Shohel's brother Rashidunnabi Khan Biplob and businessman Humayun Kabir Hira who was trade partner of Hoshi – were placed on 10-day remand.
On October 13, the body of murdered Japanese citizen Kunio Hoshi was buried in a graveyard in the city of Rangpur.
