The law enforcers have beefed up security at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, apprehending subversive activities.
As pert of the intensified security measures, the authorities have also restricted entry of visitors since Monday morning.
Airport Armed Police officials said based on intelligence report, the security at the airport has been intensified since Sunday night and it will continue until further instruction.
Assistant Superintendent of Airport Armed Police (AAP) Tanjina Akhter said: “We have taken the step for security rearrangement.”
In the meantime, a handout issued by the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry said the entry of visitors have been suspended due to refurbishment works.
