Police have arrested 13 people in two special drives conducted in Cox’s Bazar.
Cox’s Bazar police launched the night long special drives from Saturday night to Sunday morning.
The drives were conducted after the law enforcers rescued three people, including a former union parishad member, from a forest in Ramu.
An armed gang of 10 to12 people abducted three of them from Eidghar-Baishari Road at Painnajiri early Friday.
Cox’s Bazar Additional Police Super Ferdaus Ali Choudhwry told the Dhaka Tribune: “Around 10 people were arrested from the hill side area of Eidghar, Panisaghona, Dhumcchakata and Hasnakata on Saturday night.
“While the other three were arrested in another drive with three rifles, three chopper, 11 rounds of bullets, two mobile devices and a checkbook on Sunday morning.”
Police will continue the drive to arrest the abductors, the official said.
