Home minister: No place for terrorists in the country

Update : 22 Oct 2015, 08:03 PM

Terrorists, militants and criminals have no place in the country, thanks to the fearless dedication law enforcers show by risking their own lives in taking action against culprits, the home minister has said.

Despite criminals always trying to raise their ugly heads, law enforcers use intelligence reports to foil their attempts, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal told journalists at the Combined Military Hospital yesterday.

He was visiting police Sub-Inspector Monirul Islam, currently working in Rapid Action Battalion 12, who was shot during a shootout on Wednesday which left two members of outlawed Sarbahara Party dead at Maishamara village in Tangail Sadar upazila.

Terming the Tangail incident a major success, the home minister praised RAB members who acted on intelligence report and risked their own lives to stop miscreants from carrying out subversive activities.

“It is just an example of [the bravery of] our law enforcement agencies who always risk their own lives for us by taking action against criminals,” the home minister said.

Meanwhile, asked about progress in solving the recent killing of foreigners, the minister refused to make any comment.
