A carton manufacturing factory has been gutted in a fire that broke out at Halishahar area in Chittagong city.
Chittagong Fire Service and Civil Defense Headquarters in Agrabad’s Senior Station Officer Abdur Razzak said the fire ignited from an electric short circuit at around 11:20am on Tuesday at one tin shed carton factory named AMG Paper and Poultry Farm at Fakir Goli of Maddham Rampura area of Halishahar and engulfed the whole factory within few minutes.
On information the fire fighters from Agrabad Fire Station rushed to the spot with one unit and doused the blaze after two hours hectic efforts at around 1:40pm, said Abdur Razzak.
The extent of losses caused by the fire would go Tk8 lakh, said the fire service officials.
