Two wild elephants have been killed as they got electrocuted with an electric trap at Makhoner Char village in Jamalpur.
Dewanganj UP Chairman Abdur Rashid Mondol said: “The villagers created a trap with electric wires to prevent the wild elephants from entering the village. The animals got trapped in it and died on Saturday night.”
He said police have recovered the bodies of the elephants.
Dewanganj OC Aslam Hossain said necessary steps for the autopsy of the animals have been taken.
