Five people including two women have been killed as two buses collided head-on at Patildhoa area under Belabo Upazila in Narsingdi.
At least 20 people were also injured in the accident took place around 3:30pm on Wednesday, said police sources.
The police couldn't ascertain the identity of the deceased immediately.
Bhairab Highway police In-charge Md Nurul Islam said a Dhaka-bound Chalanbil Paribahan bus from Bhairab collided head-on with Kishoreganj bound Ananya Paribahan bus at Patildhoa, leaving three dead on the spot.
The locals whisked off the injured to the different local hospitals in Bhairab, 10 of them were later sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.
