Transport owners yesterday called a day-long strike on October 19 at 19-routes in the district demanding immediate repair of the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar Highway.
Chittagong Ancholik Malik-Sramik Oikkya Parishad called the programme after a meeting with the transport owners and workers.
Abul Kalam Azad, President of the Parishad and also the Secretary General of Sarak Paribahan Malik Group told the Dhaka Tribune that the condition of different roads including the highway in South Chittagong were very poor.
The transport leader also claimed that the transport owners urged the concern authorities several times to repair the roads and highway.
