A man has been hacked to death by his younger brother at Kotwali area in Chittagong.
The deceased is Sohel Chowdhury, 35, son of Sirajuddoula Chowdhruy and an architect by profession.
Sohel's younger brother Raihan fled the scene soon after the incident. Raihan is a first year student of Kazem Ali School and College.
Kotwali OC Jasim Uddin said Raihan has been suffering from mental illness and maintaining indisciplined lifestyle.
Sohel had been pressuring his younger to maintain discipline in life and pay attention to his studies, said the OC.
He said: “Raihan hacked him to death with a knife at their residence when Sohel went to his bedroom to call his younger brother for college. Sohel died on the spot.”
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Meanwhile, they recovered a knife, two mobile phones and a tab from the scene.
