Officials of the Indian Border Security Force’s Thakurbari camp yesterday admitted to killing a Bangladeshi cattle trader on Wednesday night near Chapainawabganj border.
The deceased, Anwar Hossain, is the son of Sentu Mia of Gaipara at Fatehpur of Shibganj.
Anwar was shot dead by the BSF men in Mohaldar area inside Indian territory while returning to Bangladesh with cattle around 9:30pm, acting commander of Chapainawabganj 9 BGB Battalion Maj Nazmul Alam said.
The BSF denied having killed Anwar on Wednesday night, but during a flag meeting yesterday they said they would hand over the body.
