A Bangladeshi writer in Quantico

Update : 08 Oct 2015, 06:00 PM

Bangladeshi audiences have more reason to follow ABC’s new series Quantico, as a Bangladeshi writer has featured in the show’s team of writers.

Writer Sharbari Zohra Ahmed, an American citizen, is currently working at ABC Television. This talented writer is directly linked with the writers’ panel of Quantico.

Even though she’s an ABC employee, her name couldn’t make it to the series’ credit list, but her significance to the series has been mentioned by the creator in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

“Our staff is very diverse,” Joshua Safran said. “We have a Muslim writer, a Palestinian writer. We are taking that very seriously. We want to go into those stories with as much care and thought as possible.”

And by saying “a Muslim writer” he means Sharbari Ahmed.

Born in 1971, Sharbari’s family are still residents of Dhaka, while Sharbari is currently staying in Connecticut, USA. Sharbari’s literary profile spreads over performance, film direction, scriptwriting, writing short fiction and teaching creative writing.

In addition to writing the Quantico script, the multi-talented Sharbari is also poised to making short films in her free time.

Quantico has helped Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra obtain heaps of positive attention with her ABC show. The show has become an “it” thing not just in India, but worldwide.

The show billed as a blend between Grey’s Anatomy and Homeland is being looked forward to by the audience of several countries, which have a dominance of the South African diaspora.

Bangladeshi audiences can watch Quantico on Star World and Star World HD on Saturday nights 9:30pm.
