At least 14 people were killed in separate road accidents across the country.
In Rajshahi, two persons were killed as their motorbike collided head-on with an ambulance in Boharampur area.
The deceased were identified as Mamunur Rashid, 44, son of Siraj of Guripara and Montu Hossain, 40, son of Mazdar of Shampur under Rajpara police station.
In Narayanganj, a motor bike rider identified as Imam Hossain, 22, died as his vehicle hit a tree after losing control. His co-rider was also injured in the road accident and he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Our Gaibandha correspondent reported that two people were killed and 25 others were injured in a road accident in Kalitola area on the Dhaka-Rangpur Highway on Tuesday night. At least 14 cattle were killed in the road accident.
In Munshiganj, four people were killed and nine others injured in a road accident at Chaltipara on the Dhaka-Mawa Highway, Sirajdikhan upazila in the afternoon. The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
In-charge of Hasara police camp M Hasan said the accident had occurred when a Dhaka-bound bus from Mawa fell into a roadside ditch in the area as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving four passengers of the vehicle dead on the spot and nine others injured.
In Comilla, two people were killed in a head-on collision between a tractor and a CNG-run auto rickshaw in Panchtara area, Boruda upazila.
Of the deceased, one was identified as Sukkur Alam, 30, son of Abdur Rahim, a resident of Bandegi village, Chandpur.
In Keraniganj, a farmer was killed in a road accident in Baghoir-Priyaprangon residential area on the Dhaka-Mawa Highway.
Deceased Tara Miah, 40, was a resident of Sherpur village in Mymensingh.
Sub-Inspector of Keraniganj Thana Sahadat Hossain said the accident occurred when a Mawa-bound bus hit Tara Miah in the area this noon. He died on the spot.
In Chittagong, two youths were killed in a road accident at Noyakhaler Mukh area under Satkhania upazila of the district in the morning.
The deceased were identified as Anwar Hossain, 28, and Monwar Hossain, 23, both hailed from Mirsari Upazila of the district.
Police said the accident occurred when a Cox's Bazar-bound Shah Amin
passenger bus collided head-on with a Chittagong city-bound Pickup van in front of Noyakhaler Mukh area of Chittagong Cox's Bazar Highway under Satkhania upazila that the two passengers critically injured.
Locals and police brought them to the Satkhania health complex but the attending doctors declared them dead after admission. Police seized the bus and pickup van, but the drivers and helpers of both vehicles escaped safely.
