Probe body finalises report against 2 Razakars

The investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has finalised probe report on crimes committed by two alleged Razakars named Syed Md Hossain of Brahmanbaria and Moslem Prodhan of Kishoreganj.

Mohammad Abdul Hannan Khan, chief coordinator of the agency and its senior investigator Mohammad Sanaul Haque disclosed it in a press briefing held in its Dhanmondi office on Wednesday morning, reports BSS.

"Investigation officer Hari Debnath initiated the probe against the duo on November 13, 2014 and finished on September 7, 2015. We have brought 6 charges including genocide, murder and torture against them," said Abdul Hannan Khan.

"We are going to submit a 439-page document against them to the prosecution, which includes a 161-page probe report," he added.

Sanaul said they have got evidence against the accused for killing 62 people, confining and torturing 11 and plundering and setting fire to around 250 houses.

"Though we have recorded testimonies of 60 people, we are making 47 of them as our witnesses. We will submit the report to the prosecution tomorrow," the senior investigator went on.
