The government has decided to observe the Bijoya Dashami holiday on October 22 which was earlier scheduled on October 23.
The decision was taken in the weekly cabinet meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair on Monday.
After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan told reporters that the holiday will now be observed on October 22.
The cabinet also approved anti-money laundering (amendment) ordinance and gave final approval to Chittagong Medical University Act 2015 and Rajshahi Medical University act 2015.
Regarding the anti-money laundering ordinance, the cabinet secretary said: “Financial Action Task Force team is scheduled to visit Bangladesh on October 11-22.”
