Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has postponed Monday’s scheduled meeting with the Buyers' Forum, the organisation of buyers of garment products.
Faruk Hassan, senior vice president of BGMEA, told the Dhaka Tribune that the meeting was cancelled due to the security concern that was further evoked following the second consecutive murder of another foreigner.
The BGMEA official said the meeting will remain postponed until further announcement.
The consecutive murder incident of a Japanese national in a week after the murder of an italian cast a shadow over the meeting as a good number of the foreign nationals are involved in the buyers side, he said.
