Japanese citizen shot dead in Rangpur
A Japanese national has been shot dead by miscreants at Mahiganj of Rangpur. The deceased has been identified as Oci Koniyo. The incident took place five days after Italian citizen Cesare Tavella's murder in Dhaka's Gulshan area.
Mujahid to file review petition
Condemned war criminal Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid has decided to file review petition, seeking review of the top court’s final verdict that upheld his death sentence. Mujahid's counsel Shihir Manir made the disclosure after meeting the Jamaat leader at Dhaka Central Jail on Saturday morning.
PM returns home
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has returned home after wrapping up her eight-day official visit to the USA to attend the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying the Prime Minister and members of her entourage landed at Osmani International Airport in Sylhet at 11:40am Saturday.
Suspected robber beaten to death in Lakshmipur
A suspected robber has been beaten to death by an angy mob at Kushkhali under Chandraganj upazila of Lakshmipur. The deceased is Nur Hossain, 32, son of Seraj Mia of Gobindapur village in sadar upazila.
Six killed in Habiganj road accident
At least six people have been killed when a bus hit a stationed truck at Jalalpur under Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj. Twenty others were also injured in the accident that took place around 10pm Friday.
