A 10-year old madrasa student has committed suicide by hanging himself with a ceiling at Chandiar village in Dhunat upazila on Thursday.
The deceased is identified as Likhon Mia, 10, son of Jillur Rahaman and a student of Dhunot Darul Ulum Qaumi Madrasa.
Police said family members found the body of Likhon hanging with a ceiling of their house at 11am and informed them.
Later, the law enforcers recovered the body in the afternoon.
Officer-in-Charge Panchanonda Sarkar of Dhunot police station said the madrasa student committed suicide as he did not get any permission to use mobile phone.
The body was sent to upazila health complex for autopsy, he said.
