Four people have been killed in a head-on collision between covered van and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on the Sylhet-Chhatak highway in Chhatak upazila of Sunamganj.
Sunamganj Police Super Harunur Rashid confirmed the deaths to the Dhaka Tribune.
Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
The accident took place at 8am on Wednesday when a covered van and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided head-on, leaving four people dead on the spot, said SP Harun.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.
Police also seized the truck but its driver and helper managed to flee the scene, the police official said.
