A petition has been filed with the High Court seeking a judicial inquiry into the deaths of four people in Friday's police-protesters clash in Tangail.
Bangladesh National Women Lawyers’ Association (BNWLA) Monday filed the writ petition saying that a judiciary inquiry could trace the people responsible for shooting people protesting the alleged rape of a woman.

After the first day's hearing, the HC bench of Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Zafar Ahmed fixed September 30 for further hearing.
It also asked the petitioners’ lawyer Fawzia Karim Feroz to place the relevant laws by the date fixed for the next hearing.

Three people were shot dead and 32 injured in Kalihati Upazila of Tangail as police opened fire during a clash with locals.
Later another victim died under treatment.
The locals staged the demonstration on Friday protesting assault on a mother and her son on September 15.
