The death toll has risen to four as another Tangail rape protester succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Deceased Md Rubel died around 7pm on Sunday, said DMCH police outpost In-Charge Mozammel Haque.
On Friday, three people were killed and 50 others injured in police firing after they blocked the Tangail-Mymensingh road demanding quick trial of a rapist.
The locals were protesting the rape of a Ghatail woman in front of her son Al Amin on September 15.
Alleged rapist Rafiqul Islam Roma is the son of Mozaffar Hossain from Saturia under Kalihati upazila.
Of the deceased, Shamim, 35, son of Alhaz from Kalia village of Ghatail, died on the spot while Faruk, 32, of Satia village of the same upazila, succumbed to his injuries at Tangail Sadar Hospital.
Critically injured Nitai Chandra died on the way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, OC Md Shahidul Islam told the Dhaka Tribune.
Two cases have been filed with Kalihati and Ghatail police stations over the firing on a protest against rape in Tangail which killed three people.
Over 300 people were made accused in the case filed with Kalihati police station while more than 400 were sued in the case with Ghatail police station.
The cases were filed by police on Saturday night.
